Samsung Climate Solutions at IFA 2023

IFA 2023 attendees will have the chance to explore Samsung’s cutting-edge offerings, including the new EHS Mono R290 heat pump series that showcases a blend of technology and elegant design.

30 August 2023, Amsterdam – Samsung Electronics will be participating at IFA 2023 to showcase an array of innovative products that connects people to what matters the most. As one of the leading exhibitors at the IFA Trade Fair since 1991, Samsung aims to enable consumers across Europe to prioritise the issues they care about - saving energy, increasing security, access to great entertainment and driving efficiencies in their everyday lives.

At IFA this year, Samsung will unveil its latest offerings that exemplify the future of home comfort and sustainability, for the second consecutive year. A key highlight is the new EHS Mono R290 series - a revolutionary series of heat pumps that has a remarkably low Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 3 (compared to the GWP of other refrigerant technologies such as R32 (675)), offering an environmentally friendlier solution for future-proofing residential homes.

The EHS Mono R290 also offers a consistent supply of high hot water temperature of up to 75 °C¹ to potentially make it a suitable heating system replacement for older homes. It is available in a broad range of capacities for varying requirements – 5, 8, 12, and 16 kW, operating with minimal noise levels as low as 35 dB(A)² , and complementing any living space with a sleek, compact design.

IFA attendees will also get the chance to learn more about Samsung’s other innovative offerings. These are products that have been meticulously designed to create a seamless living experience and are equipped with Samsung’s signature offerings, such as:

WindFree™: Samsung’s unique WindFree™ technology enhances indoor comfort by using thousands of micro-holes to disperse fresh air quietly and uniformly, without any cold wind, creating a ‘Still Air’³ environment that provides well-being day and night.

ClimateHub: An innovative solution from Samsung for heating, cooling and domestic hot water supply, with smart connectivity, easy set-up and servicing, quiet operation and intuitive control, offering optimal indoor climate convenience.

SmartThings Energy⁴: One of the largest open ecosystems of connected devices worldwide, SmartThings Energy is compatible with leading voice assistants and a wide range of devices. It offers the ultimate home energy management systems, as well as real energy savings through rich insights, energy saving automations, and support for users to move towards a net zero home. Once connected, users can monitor their energy usage and with the saving mode potentially reduce their energy consumption***⁶.

Visitors will also get a chance to experience an immersive, hands-on, tiny house pop-up experience with SmartThings connected devices, showcasing relevant consumer use cases.

Samsung welcomes visitors at its stand at the Messe Berlin Exhibition Grounds, Hall: City Cube B Stand: 101, from September 1st to 5th.

¹ Leaving water temperature when the outdoor temperature is -10~35°C. Domestic hot water (DHW) leaving the DHW tank is 70°C when the outdoor temperature is -10~43°C. Results may vary depending on the actual usage conditions. ² Using a 4-step quiet mode. Based on internal testing of the EHS Mono R290 outdoor unit AE120CXYD*G/EU, AE160CXYD*G/EU. The noise level is measured 3m away from the front of the outdoor unit, in an anechoic room with an outside temperature of 7°C. Results may vary depending on environmental factors and individual use. ³ ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers) defines “Still Air” as air currents at speeds below 0.15m/s which lacks the presence of cold drafts. ⁴ Available on Android and iOS devices. A Wi-Fi connection, Samsung account and an optional Wi-Fi Kit (MIM-H04N) are required. ⁵ Voice control is supported by AI speakers such as Samsung Bixby 2.0, Google Assistant (Google Home) and Amazon Alexa. Google Assistant is not available in certain languages and countries.
