Samsung’s air conditioners with WindFree™ technology cool air without cold drafts¹. We keep you cool in summer and warm in winter, giving you the perfect indoor environment to be yourself.
An air conditioner works by extracting heat from the indoors and releasing it outside. This is done via a refrigerant inside the air conditioning system and works in 3 steps: Step 1: the refrigerant inside the system evaporates (turns to gas) and in doing so absorbs heat from the inside air. Step 2: via a compressor the evaporated refrigerant is pushed through the air conditioning system to again become a liquid. Whilst the refrigerant turns back into a liquid, warm air is expelled via the outdoor unit Step 3: whilst the evaporated refrigerant is flowing through the air conditioning system, cooled air is circulated back into the room, providing a cooling effect to create a comfortable temperature indoors.
¹ ASHRAE (the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers) defines “Still Air” as air currents moving at speeds below 0.15 m/s with no cold drafts.
