Lower GWP

Changed the refrigerant. Why?
R290 (3) has a lower global warming potential (GWP) then the more common used refrigerants R32 (675) and R410A (2088). This is up to 99% lower GWP. What does a reduced GWP mean? It has less potential to trap heat in the atmosphere, thereby mitigating its contribution to global warming.

Energy Monitoring

Worries about energy consumption? 
With the SmartThings app¹ you can easily monitor your energy consumption. Tap on the AI Energy mode³ in the app and set a monthly consumption target. The AI Energy mode will automatically switch your devices to energy-saving mode if consumption becomes too high. So with the AI energy mode, energy is smartly saved. ​

Strong Heating

Always warm. How?​
The heat transfer area is 39%² increased and the compression ratio increased by 27%⁴.  Although it's cold outside, your floor heating will reach 35°C, radiator heating 65°C, and warm baths 40°C. Makes every place warm and just right for you.​

1. Available on Android and iOS devices. A Wi-Fi connection, Samsung account, and an optional Wi-Fi Kit (MIM-H04N) are required.

2. Based on Samsung's measurements on an EHS R290 Mono (AE080CXYDGK/EU) model compared to a conventional outdoor unit (AE080RXYDGG/EU) with the same capacity.​

3. The SmartThings AI Energy mode, when used by the end-user, can provide users with a possibility to save energy and/or costs with regard to their domestic hot water usage based on (repeatable) user patterns. A compatible Samsung ClimateHub is required. All savings are estimates. The actual savings vary and depend on, amongst others, usage, costs, and operating conditions. The AI Energy mode may impact the product performance. End user may deactivate the AI Energy mode at any time.

4. Compression ratio = Discharge pressure / Suction pressure. Based on internal testing on an EHS Mono R290 12/16kW outdoor unit, compared to a DVM R410A outdoor unit. As a result, Rotary compressor: increased from 10 to 15, Scroll compressor: increased from 13 to 16.5. Results may vary depending on the actual usage conditions. ​
